Ljubljana City Tour
Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is a little European gem of a city, sitting on the banks of the emerald-green Ljubljanica River, which flows through the city’s core. Green nature and pleasant vibes make it one of the loveliest European capitals. Many positive changes have been made over the past few years to make the city even more livable and sustainable, which is why the European Commission awarded Ljubljana with the coveted Green Capital of Europe title in 2016.
Ljubljana has been the cultural, educational, economic, political, and administrative center of independent Slovenia since 1991, which is why the city is bursting with life. It offers a wealth of culture and attractions to its visitors, all within walking distance from the city center. A selection of great events, galleries, museums, parks, cafes and restaurants makes Ljubljana a wonderful place to visit.
The most prominent point of Ljubljana is the romantic Old Town crowned by the Ljubljana Castle overlooking the city. The oldest architecture has been preserved from the Roman period, while Ljubljana’s downtown got its outline in the Middle Ages with its historic center having remained intact until this day.
Ljubljana’s central geographic location and good transport connections make it an excellent starting point for tours and excursions to Slovenia’s most prominent attractions, as well as nearby countries and destinations. Check out our Day Trips & Tours or contact us here for more info!
