Šmarješke Toplice, a tectonic thermal resort, is located in the southeastern part of Slovenia, about 80 km from Ljubljana, surrounded by forests and meadows. The beauty of the local nature and the favorable climate are complemented by the beneficial effects of a hot thermal spring and the efficiency of a team of highly qualified medical specialists in diseases of the cardiovascular system, musculoskeletal system, diseases of the nervous system and rehabilitation after operations on the organs of movement. In Šmarješke Toplice, the first medical wellness center in Slovenia was established.

What to see in Šmarješke Toplice
Like most of Slovenia, the area around Šmarješke Toplice offers its own share of natural beauty to rest your eyes upon. The gorge of Radulja creek is one of such sights - the Radulja creates small, but loud and effervescent waterfalls in a short but wild canyon with almost vertical walls. Another hidden jewel of the area is the swampy Zdravci Valley, with hundred-year-old willow trees.

Visit the Gorenc bee-keeping museum or sample some of the great variety of honey products. For even more sweetness, visit the Honey Boutique Voglar, where you can find a wide selection of honey products and gifts, and listen to the stories of the bee-keepers whose work preserves our natural heritage. On a different note, you can drink local wine from the wine fountain "Izvir cvička".

When in Šmarješke Toplice, we recommend visiting the House of Living Heritage which offers an insight into the lives of the local inhabitants from different perspectives with its own state-of-the-art oenological laboratory honoring the winegrowers’ special tradition.
